Jon Cruddas MP urges local NHS to improve IVF treatment

Recently both Barking and Dagenham CCG and Havering CCG, the two clinical commissioning groups in the constituency, have been singled out by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) due to their failure to provide the number of IVF cycles that they claimed were available to their patients. While Barking and Dagenham CCG and Havering CCG advertise that their patients are have access to three rounds of IVF, the number recommended to maximize fertility, NICE has discovered that in practice the CCGs generally provide only one round.

Tesco Neighbourhood Food Collection

This month, Tesco will be holding its fifth Neighborhood Food Collection campaign, with support from the Trussell Trust and FareShare. In stores across the country, Tesco shoppers will be encouraged to donate extra food to be collected and distributed to food banks for the needy this holiday season. Last July, this collection was able to provide 5.1 meals to the hungry. The first weeklong collection will be held between Monday 24th and Saturday 29th November. Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham, continues to support this campaign, as he has during past collections.

Jon Cruddas lends support to Christians Against Poverty

King of Kings Tabernacle (KKT), a parish of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, has announced that they are partnering with Christians Against Poverty (CAP) to launch a debt-counseling program in Dagenham. CAP is an award-winning charity that counsels people of all faiths on how to get rid of debt and achieve financial stability. As Britain moves out of its longest-ever recession, CAP’s services are important for anyone in difficult times. The service is completely free and is not religiously restricted to any particular faith.

Jon Cruddas MP joins UK Charity in Blindfolded Bus Journey

Local MP Jon Cruddas has thrown his support behind a UK charity’s campaign to improve public transport access for the blind and partially sighted. Last Friday he donned a blindfold to experience a ride on the 103 bus near to his Dagenham and Rainham constituency office.

September unemployment stats for Dagenham & Rainham

The number of Jobseeker's Allowance claimants in Dagenham and Rainham constituency in September 2014 was 2,004. This represents a rate of 4.1% of the economically active population aged 16 to 64, the 148th highest of the 650 UK constituencies. (1st = highest rate of unemployment, 650th = lowest rate of unemployment.)

Ingrebourne Hill waste dispute continues

The recent purchase of land at Ingrebourne Hill from the council has led to the extension of the existing waste fill site, which residents opposed at the time of its introduction. Residents and politicians from the community were sceptical of the land changing hands to Ingrebourne Valley Ltd from the start due to it being one of few untouched green spaces in the local area.

Chadwell Heath Sainsbury's Charity Partner 2014/15

Chadwell Heath Community Centre needs your support!

Each year the local Sainsbury’s branch at Chadwell Heath chooses a charity partner to support for 12 months. The partner is decided upon by the public and all you have to do is get down to the Sainsbury’s in Chadwell Heath and fill out a nomination form.

The community centre offers many local services, acting as a children's centre, hosting activities for residents and still providing the area with its only library.
