Autism Awareness Week, Visit to DABD

On Monday 27th of March, day one of Autism Awareness Week, Havering Coordinator Fay Hough visited DABD in Dagenham to find out more about their services and why they play a vital role in our community. People may face barriers in life for several reasons – whether it’s disability (physical and sensory), unemployment, poverty, isolation, poor health and lack of work or training. DABD want to break down the barriers that can prevent people from living the life they would choose and encourage them to be as independent as they want to be.

Re use New Home Furniture and Electricals

DABD (uk) Re-Use Centre is based at Woodward Road, Dagenham.

DABD (uk) accept donations of furniture & can collect if necessary. DABD are only able to take good quality furniture as it will be redistributed at low cost to support local residents on low income or facing crisis. Furniture will be inspected upon collection.

DABD (uk) work with LBBD Voids team to recycle goods from vacant properties. The purpose of the Centre is to make use of furniture as well as divert goods from landfill.

Budgeting Help and Advice Day

Due to the various benefit changes and benefit cap the Tenant Participation Team at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Council, working in partnership with the DABD, will be delivering budgeting workshops to help local tenants and residents.
