Sadiq Khan Mayor of London has announced the introduction of a £130 million one-off funding plan to provide all primary school children in London with free school meals for one year beginning September 2023. This will help families struggling with the spiralling cost of living crisis, saving families £440 per child each year.

The Source Warehouse is based in Barking but provides support for all residents of LBBD including Jon’s constituents. They provide furniture, free of charge, to those most in need within the Borough.
Over the course of the end of 2022, the National Lottery donated funds to community projects up and down the country, including in Dagenham and Rainham. The National Lottery Community Fund provided almost 2,500 grants last year and one of their biggest funding grants was made available to the Rainham Foodbank.

In June 2022 Jon Cruddas MP supported the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham in their round two levelling up bid “Up the Heathway” seeking funds to transform Dagenham Heathway. This week the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities confirmed that the bid had been successful, and the council had been awarded £10,883,068 for the project.
Residents from Orchard Village have brought many complaints about repair and anti social behaviour issues to Ward councillors, Matt Stanton and Trevor Mckeever and Labour MP, Jon Cruddas. The Orchard Village estate is owned and managed by Clarion Housing Association.
