Jon Cruddas used an Adjournment Debate in the House of Commons to thank everyone involved in the successful campaign to stop the prison in Dagenham. Jon spoke in detail about the campaign to stop the prison and highlighted the key steps over the year. A number of questions were raised about the silence of the Mayor of London's role in this affair. Jon summed up the debate by saying,
"Most importantly, I want to pay credit to my constituents for how they have engaged with this issue, the outcome of which is a tribute to local democracy and, more generally, public policy making in this country. Thank you very much."
