Nominate an inspirational under 25 year old citizen

Do you know of an inspirational young person whose selfless actions go unsung?

The British Red Cross wants to hear from you. It is running a Humanitarian Citizen Award to celebrate the achievements of young people who make a difference, and should be recognised.

The four categories are first aid, volunteering, community action and fundraising. Nominees receive a certificate and their achievements communicated throughout the Red Cross networks.

Orchard Village walk-in service moves to South Hornchurch

Local residents who, due to the extensive water damage and vandalism of the Orchard Village Health Centre, have been awaiting a new walk-in service will be pleased to know that the old walk-in service has been relocated to South Hornchurch Health Centre on South End Road, Rainham.  Only one and a half miles from the original health centre, the South Hornchurch Health Centre will be able to provide a reliable service without the disruptions that caused the relocation from Orchard Village.  All of the services offered at the Orchard Village site will be readily available at the new centre, inclu

Jon Cruddas opposes return of fox hunting

Dagenham and Rainham MP Jon Cruddas has pledged his full support to stop the Government from reintroducing Fox Hunting in England and Wales.  The vote due to take place next Wednesday could see the 2004 hunting act overturned with the Tory led Government having a 12 seat majority.
