Jon Cruddas MP urges local NHS to improve IVF treatment

Recently both Barking and Dagenham CCG and Havering CCG, the two clinical commissioning groups in the constituency, have been singled out by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) due to their failure to provide the number of IVF cycles that they claimed were available to their patients. While Barking and Dagenham CCG and Havering CCG advertise that their patients are have access to three rounds of IVF, the number recommended to maximize fertility, NICE has discovered that in practice the CCGs generally provide only one round.

Living in London survey

Our representative in City Hall, John Biggs – London Assembly Member for City & East has launched a Living in London survey to demonstrate how the Mayor of London’s policies are affecting local people. It is John’s job to hold Boris Johnson to account, but to do that he needs the help of Londoners.

Over the last year London has seen drastic policing cuts, soaring housing costs and transport fares continuing to rise.

Christmas Card Competition 2014

It’s that time of year again, the MP’s Christmas Card Competition and Jon Cruddas, as with previous years has spent days agonizing over the winning card. Since the cards were collected from the thirteen schools taking part Jon has been up all night surrounded by cards trying to decide upon a winner.

Tesco Neighbourhood Food Collection

This month, Tesco will be holding its fifth Neighborhood Food Collection campaign, with support from the Trussell Trust and FareShare. In stores across the country, Tesco shoppers will be encouraged to donate extra food to be collected and distributed to food banks for the needy this holiday season. Last July, this collection was able to provide 5.1 meals to the hungry. The first weeklong collection will be held between Monday 24th and Saturday 29th November. Jon Cruddas MP for Dagenham and Rainham, continues to support this campaign, as he has during past collections.

National Trustees' Week

Charities will be holding hundreds of events this week to thank their trustees for their hard work and dedication. Trustees are the backbone of any charity, and they perform many vital services often without much recognition.

Jon Cruddas lends support to Christians Against Poverty

King of Kings Tabernacle (KKT), a parish of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, has announced that they are partnering with Christians Against Poverty (CAP) to launch a debt-counseling program in Dagenham. CAP is an award-winning charity that counsels people of all faiths on how to get rid of debt and achieve financial stability. As Britain moves out of its longest-ever recession, CAP’s services are important for anyone in difficult times. The service is completely free and is not religiously restricted to any particular faith.

Jon Cruddas MP joins UK Charity in Blindfolded Bus Journey

Remembrance Day in Dagenham & Rainham

This weekend councils across the nation held Remembrance Day services in memory of all those who have given their lives in armed conflict. This year, November 11th marks 100 years since the start of World War I, one of the most destructive conflicts in modern history. This Armistice Day will provide an opportunity for us to reflect on the sacrifice all those who lost their lives in service to the nation. Dagenham and Rainham have a long and proud history of service in war.

A bright new era dawns in Dagenham on the Sanofi site

The future of state-of-the-art scientific buildings at Sanofi’s former manufacturing plant in Dagenham, east London, has finally been secured following an agreement with regeneration specialists SOG Group to purchase the facilities for an undisclosed sum.

SOG Group, owner and operator of the award-winning The Heath Business and Technical Park in Runcorn, Cheshire, has been lead consultant advising Sanofi on the overall regeneration programme at Dagenham.
