Melville Road and Cowper Road Parking in Rainham

Jon Cruddas Member of Parliament for Dagenham and Rainham, Incorporating South Hornchurch and Elm Park, has been contacted by a number of residents in Melville and Cowper Road, Rainham regarding the ongoing parking problems there. Many residents have complained to Jon that commuters using Rainham Rail Station use Melville and Cowper Road to park their cars up before heading to work and leave them there till late in the evening resulting in residents not be able to park in their own road.

Sanofi Site Improvements Works

Improvement works at Rainham Road South will begin 10 March 2014 to make it easier for drivers and pedestrians accessing the former Sanofi site.

A new junction will be installed with new improved pedestrian crossings when work starts in March at the Reede Road/Dagenham East area at Rainham Road South.

During the improvement works, which are expected to last until June 2014, the Council is urging drivers to take alternative routes.

Big Local community forum - Marks Gate

Jon Signs Up For Dementia Action Alliance's Carers Call To Action

This week Jon Cruddas MP signed up to the Dementia Action Alliance’s Carers Call to Action.

At least 670,000 people in England have dementia and this number is set to double in the next 30 years. It is estimated that at least 550,000 people act as primary carers to those suffering from Dementia. Caring for a loved one with dementia is one of life’s hardest challenges. Despite their numbers and needs, carers tend to become isolated and if support is given, it is often provided late.

Jon Cruddas launched the public consultation to find out what is at the heart of the problems affecting local people across his constituency. The first meeting was held at the top of the constituency in Chadwell Heath ward, Marks Gate.

Wennington Extraction Site Update

Jon Cruddas MP, Member of Parliament for Dagenham and Rainham, Incorporating South Hornchurch and Elm Park, has been running a campaign against plans to establish a Gravel and Mineral Extraction Site in Wennington Village on the 25 hectares of land adjacent to the A1306 opposite the new Links Golf Course which is currently being built.

The Cost of Living: Marks Gate public consultation

On Saturday 8th February Jon Cruddas, Member of Parliament for Dagenham and Rainham incorporating South Hornchurch and Elm Park, held a public meeting to discuss the Cost of Living with residents in Marks Gate.

The event was the first in a series of public consultations across Dagenham and Rainham designed for Jon to hear from local residents about their concerns regarding the cost and standard of living. In the past few months we have seen big rises in the cost of transport and energy which has pushed many hard working families to the brink.
